Drug peddler arrested with Contraband in Srinagar: Police

In its ongoing mission to eliminate the scourge of drugs from society Police in Srinagar has arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession. A Spokesperson said that Police team of Srinagar police during routine patrolling duty at Rawalpora-Peerbagh link road, intercepted and apprehended a suspicious person. During search, contraband Heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Aqib Farooq Bhat (notorious drug peddler) son of Farooq Ahmad Bhat resident of Nadirgund, Peerbagh Hyderpora. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.16/2025 under NDPS Act has been registered in PS Sadder and investigation has been initiated. J&K Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and ensuring a safe and drug-free society. Public cooperation is essential in this fight, and we urge citizens to report any suspicious activities related to narcotics to the nearest Police Station.
